Bucky and Bage win at Lake Travis

Welcome to the official home of the Bass Chumps.
Bass chumps is a bass club based in Central Texas. We have members who are located in Conroe, Giddings, Bastrop, and the Austin Area. We have one club tournament each month and award an Angler of the Year based on point totals.

History of the Bass Chumps
The Bass Chumps club was started in 2007 by three guys who enjoyed fishing together. They wanted to fish some low key tournaments so the started up the Bass Chumps. The club gained new members in May of 2007 when they fished a best two out of three tournament vs. ABF-Austin Bass Fishing.

September Tournament Results
The Bass Chumps traveled to Lake Travis for their September Tourney on 9-6-08. It was the smallest turnout thus far, with only 4 boats and 8 members showing up. Several members had previous engagements and couldn't make it! (Come on Warren, I mean "Vegas" over the "Chumps", get your priorties straight )Anyway conditions were tough with blue-bird skies, temps in the upper 90's and almost no wind. Three of the four teams weighed in 2 keepers each, and just a few ounces separated the winners. Bucky and Bage were able to stay at the top of the standings with a winning weight of 3.8 lbs. There was a tie for second between Mike/Jug and Shane/Cody with both teams coming in with 3.03 lbs. This one truly signified why we are the "Chumps", as when we put in with 4 boats, two wouldn't start. NitroShane quickly resolved his problems, but BShiff and Corey had more serious issues. However, in true "chump" fashion, they didn't quit. Instead, they took the Skeeter to the shop and got it fixed, hit the water by 10:00 and fished till 1:00. They lost several keepers, and possibly one that would have won the tournament by itself! Hats off to the Legendbshiff and Corey for sticking it out! In addition, the "Chumps" amended the Big Bass Rule to a mandatory 5 lbs. or better, and with no such fish weighed in on Travis, there is a $40.00 "carry-over" on Big Bass for the next tourney!

October 11th Tournament to be Rescheduled
The tournament that was originally scheduled for October 11th on Stillhouse Hollow has been canceled. Plans are currently being made to reschedule. We will post information about the tourny on the website and our forum as soon as the details are worked out. Please check back for those details.
